Manchester City 5-0 Newcastle United. Is the title race over?

It's down to Pep's era vs Klopp's era.

Manchester City have destroyed Newcastle at the Etihad by scoring 5 goals and conceding 0 which makes it a 3 point gap for City and the goal difference also shifts into City’s favour as they now have a 4 goal advantage from Liverpool. Now it’s basically like 4 points to City cause if they lose and Liverpool win, Liverpool have got to overturn the 4 goal difference margin and that is going to be huge for Klopp. Now Liverpool need 4 more points than City to be the champions or have equal points with them at the end of the season but with a better goal difference.

Liverpool dropped 2 points against Tottenham as they drew with them this weekend before City played. Son scored the first goal of the match for Spurs but it wasn’t enough for the win as it was equalised by a sensational goal from Luis Diaz, but that wasn’t enough too for Liverpool as at the end of the game, the anger and frustration from the fans and the players could all be seen. Klopp too was frustrated after the match as he pointed out that he doesn’t like the defensive type of football which Spurs played against them. Interestingly the team who would win the title would be a team which couldn’t beat Spurs all season. Anyway Pep capitalized the opportunity that was given to him by Spurs and managed a win against Newcastle.

Now City are pole position to achieve back to back Premier League titles and win the 4th in the last 5 years. Pep’s team have Wolves, West Ham and Aston Villa left to play and Liverpool would be hoping that Steven Gerrard’s Villa could produce a masterclass against City on the last matchday and hand the title to Liverpool. Whereas Liverpool have Aston Villa, Southampton and Wolves left to play including the 2 cup finals and City would be hoping that Liverpool might drop points again due to the pressure of the Cup finals. All in all it’s all to fight for both the teams as a Premier League title is on the line.
