Barcelona supporters are following and watching Messi ever since he left the club. This summer it would be a dream for some of them to see Messi back at Barcelona and regarding that, some big news has come in the Spanish and French media.
Given the questions regarding the future of PSG’s sporting director Leonardo. There are also questions about their overall project at the club and even Nasser Al-Khelafi himself is being questioned about the direction of PSG so anyone can understand why the rumours were speculating over Messi’s future. But not only with Messi, there are also questions about Mbappe’s future who is heavily linked with a summer love to Real Madrid. PSG would also be willing to offload Neymar if a very big offer arrives. But on Messi, it’s certainly concrete that he is set to stay as a PSG player until at least the summer of 2024 because in 2024 his contract at PSG will expire. No one knows what’s going to happen beyond that but surely looking at this summer there will be no return to Barcelona.

But also looking at next season there has been news that PSG could look to base their team around him and try to get the absolute best out of Messi which in the last season their coach Mauricio Pochettino has absolutely failed in that aspect. And on Pochettino there are widespread reports that he is going to be sacked imminently with Antonio Conte or Zinedine Zidane as the most likely replacement.
So Barcelona supporters would have to wait at least until 2024 to see Messi back in Barcelona. They could even see a surprise with Messi going to MLS after 2024 or maybe even renewing with PSG, so only Messi knows what’s going to happen.
