Euro 2028 Bids, UK and Ireland Submit Final Bid, Reveal 10 Shortlisted Host Stadium

EURO Bids are here and now there are some interesting bids. Will UK and Ireland host the tournament?

The United Kingdom and Ireland lands their bid to co-host the EURO 2028 and promised a great experience for the tournament.

The bid includes matches across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland. There are more tickets available than in any past tournaments and matches in Wembley, Villa Park, Tottenham Stadium, Hampden Park, and so on.

In the beginning, Manchester United stadium, Old Trafford was considered as one host for the tournament. But in the later period, Man Utd withdrew the name from the shortlist.

In a statement last week, the club said, “Manchester United was pleased to put Old Trafford forward as a potential host of UEFA Euro 2028 matches and proud of the strong case we made.

“However, during follow-up discussions with the FA, it became clear that we were unable to provide the necessary certainty around the availability of Old Trafford due to potential redevelopment of the stadium.”

The stadiums that are shortlisted for the tournament-

1. London – Wembley Stadium (90,652)

2. Cardiff – National Stadium of Wales (73,952)

3. London – Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (62,322)

4. Manchester – City of Manchester Stadium (61,000)

5. Liverpool – Everton Stadium (52,679)

6. Newcastle – St James’ Park (52,305)

7. Birmingham – Villa Park (52,190)

8. Glasgow – Hampden Park (52,032)

9. Dublin – Dublin Arena (51,711)

10. Belfast – Casement Park (34,500)

UEFA also received bids from Turkey for the EURO 2028 or 2032 and from Italy for the 2032 tournament. 

The UEFA Executive Committee will vote in October to decide who has won the right to host both tournaments.
