The star-studded Brazilian Diego Carlos has signed for the English side Aston Villa on a four-year deal. He was in high demand in the winter transfer window last January and Newcastle were looking to grab him but Sevilla wasn’t prepared to let him go. Aston Villa came to a deal with the Spanish giants and agreed to sign Carlos for a whopping deal of $31 million. He has been a rock in the back for Sevilla in LaLiga this season and Steven Gerrard is ever more confident that the Olympic gold medalist winner will be pivotal in the next season for Aston Villa as well.

Diego Carlos has become the third signing of the English side after Boubacar Kamara and Phillipe Coutinho for the next season. Gerrard knew Carlos was in huge demand since the last transfer window and saw the opportunity and sought full advantage of the situation and responded quickly by signing him for $31 million on an undisclosed salary keeping him at the club until 2026.

Huge Boost for Aston Villa in the defense:
With Carlos in the squad, it will give Steven Gerrard a huge boost in the defense. He will be pairing up with the exciting backline force of Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings, Matty Cash, Calum Chambers and Lucas Digne for the next season.
Problems for Sevilla:
With Carlos gone and rumors about Jules Kounde set to sign for Chelsea, it will be a hard summer transfer window for Julen Lopetegui to find a defender. Rumors suggest that the Galatasaray-starman Marcos do Nascimento Teixeira is the replacement that Seviila are looking for this summer.
