Brighton vs Everton Preview, Team News and Predicted Lineup.

Initial Observations

Brighton will continue to monitor injury concerns of Evan Ferguson and Pascal Gross, but their manager Roberto De Zerbi insists neither player will be risked. This game may come prematurely for Joel Veltman, who is still without Adam Lallana, Jakub Moder, and Jeremy Sarmiento. Seamus Coleman, captain of Everton, is expected to miss the remainder of the season after hurting his right leg in the next 2-2 draw against Leicester. Ben Godfrey, another defender, is still out with a groin injury. Amadou Onana, who was an unused replacement in the previous encounter due to sickness, has recovered so should be fit to play.

Some interesting facts

Brighton’s 4-1 victory over Everton at Goodison Park earlier in January puts them in position to clinch their first home double over the Toffees. The Toffees triumphed 2-0 inside the Amex last season, but they have never won back-to-back away league games against the Seagulls. The team scored just eight goals in their first nine matches in the Premier League against the Merseysides but have scored seven in the last two encounters.

Brighton Football Club News

This season, the Seagulls have prevailed in five out of the seven league games against teams presently in the drop zone (D1, L1). Brighton prevailed in a single of their 12 football league Monday games (D8, L3), albeit it occurred in their lone such game this season, a 3-1 victory against Southampton on Boxing Day. They have won eight of their past ten home games in every competition, maintaining seven clean sheets in the process. Only the Manchester United team has maintained more than two goals at home in 2022-23, with ten (before the most recent round of matches). Danny Welbeck was actively involved in a total of eight goals and scored four in his seven Premier League starts versus Everton. Everton Football Club News

Everton is winless in its previous 18 Premier League (PL) away games against teams that are currently ranked in the top third of the standings (D7, L11), however, their most recent success in this category came in an August 2021 2-0 triumph at Brighton. They have collected four out of a possible 21 points since defeating Brentford on March 11 (D4, L3). The Toffees have lost all 13 of their road games in the top tier, despite four of the last five having finished in draws. More than a single Everton player, Alex Iwobi has contributed to eight Premier League goals so far (two goals and six assists).
