They also won the European Super Cup and the Copa del Rey thrice.

England star Trent Alexander-Arnold says he “feels natural” in his new midfield position.

Trent Alexander-Arnold may have caused some supporters to scoff, but the England full-back/midfielder said it felt totally “natural” to him. For England’s Euro 2024 qualifying match against Malta on Friday, Declan Rice, Jordan Henderson, and Alexander-Arnold started as a midfield three. The Liverpool player under Gareth Southgate is familiar with the idea because he played in such a position during a qualifying match against Andorra in September 2021 but with disappointing results. However, England’s fans rewarded to a collection of the greatest Alexander-Arnold plays, including accurate crosses and lofted balls, energy and talent in the attacking third, and a spectacular goal from 25 yards in an easy 4-0 triumph.

Northern Ireland was denied a chance to draw by the VAR.

Injury-hit As a result of VAR’s decision to overturn Callum Marshall’s injury-time goal for West Ham, Northern Ireland was denied a thrilling, last-second tie against Denmark. In the Parken Stadium, there was a long and tense wait until the 18-year-old’s volley was overturned because Jonny Evans had been flagged for being offside from an earlier free-kick. The result was a 1-0 victory for the Danes, who now lead Group H after Jonas Wind’s goal at the opening of the second half. Before Wind broke the tie two minutes after the interval, the visitors had put on a resolute defensive performance.
