The first batch of Indian players flew to England on 23 May for the WTC Final. This includes all players that will not be a part of the IPL playoffs. These seven players are Virat Kohli, Mohammad Siraj, R Ashwin, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur. Head coach Rahul Dravid along with his coaching staff will also take the flight to London with the first batch.
WTC Final Update
Earlier, India faced major injury problems in the fast-bowling department. Bumrah was already ruled out from the Indian squad for WTC Final. Moreover, there was suspense on the injury update of Umesh Yadav and Jaydev Unadkat. But, the same report states that the duo have been declared fit by the National Cricket Academy and will travel with the first batch of players.

Alongside the main team players, Mukesh Kumar, Aniket Chaudhary, Akash Deep, and Yarra Prithviraj will also take the flight to London. Mukesh Kumar has been selected as a reserve player while Aniket Chaudhary Akash Deep and Yarra Prithviraj have been selected as net bowlers for the tournament.
Other players like Skipper Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill and Mohammed Shami, along with reserve players Ruturaj Gaikwad and Suryakumar Yadav, will fly later. Cheteshwar Pujara is already in England. He is playing in the County Championship for Sussex and will join the team later this week.
The 2024 WTC final will be played from June 7 to 11 at the Oval Stadium in London. In the final India will face Australia. Both teams are hoping to lift the trophy for the first time. India played the inaugural final in 2021 where they lost to New Zealand. While Australia is playing for the first time.
