In the first innings, he got only 1 wicket. But he made a perfect comeback in the second innings. In the second innings, he got 6 wickets and destroyed the New Zealand batting lineup. Ebadot Hossain ripped through the heart of New Zealand’s batting unit to pick up a six-fer and power his team to a historic win.

1st Innings

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first. And Bangladesh started well with the wicket of New Zealand captain Tom Latham. But Devon Conway and Will Young made a brilliant partnership of 100+ runs and put New Zealand in driver seat. Devon Conway brought up his maiden hundred at home in his first match at home. He is brilliant in past couple of months. Henry Nicholls also played a fine innings of 75 runs. But the lower order can’t contribute much to New Zealand’s total. And New Zealand posted 328 runs after playing 100+ overs.

Bangladesh batted beautifully after having a huge total on their shoulders. They lost their opener Shadman Islam cheaply. But Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Shanto made an outstanding partnership and settled Bangladesh’s batting. Captain Mominul also played a very fine innings with support from Liton Das. And Bangladesh scored 458 runs in their batting. This was a brilliant effort from Bangladeshi batsmen. Four batsmen crossed fifty but none of them was able to convert into a hundred. And Bangladesh got a huge lead of 130 runs.

2nd Innings

New Zealand Captain Tom Latham once again failed. But Will Young played a brilliant innings once again and scored 69 runs and played a gritty knock. But none of the batsmen scored runs. And Ebadot Hossain ripped through the batting lineup of New Zealand. Five batsmen got out on ducks. Ebadot bowled beautifully and got a perfect support from Taskin Ahmed. He got 6 wickets and rattled New Zealand batting lineup. On the morning of last day, Ross Taylor was there in the middle and New Zealand hoped that he stand out there in the middle. But Ebadot also got out of the experienced batsman and New Zealand were able to score only 169 runs. Bangladesh have a target of only 40 runs.

It was just a formality for Bangladesh to finish things off. Bangladesh lost both of their openers but it was not actually mattered. And Bangladesh finished the things in17 overs. With this win, Bangladesh won their first Test match in New Zealand and it is also the first ever win of Bangladesh over New Zealand.

When no one even trusted Bangladesh to play competitive cricket against World Champion New Zealand. But Bangladesh have some other plans.
