Prior to the Asia Cup 2022, Indian captain Rohit Sharma shared a special message with the supporters. The high-profile competition, which was initially scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka, will now be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The tournament commences on August 27.
On August 28, the Indian team will face off against its bitter nemesis Pakistan. Although they have not yet announced their lineup for the competition. Their preparations have been going fairly well, as evidenced by the style of cricket they have been playing.
With just a few days remaining for the start of the tournament, skipper Rohit was featured in a promotional video of the Asia Cup titled “Mission Asia par Chhana Hai”.
There’s no greater pride than hearing 140 crore fans chanting- “India, India”
In the video, the opening batter can be seen expressing his feelings about cricket. He said there’s no greater pride than hearing chants of 140 crores fans.
“Winning the Asia Cup 7 times. Being the No.1 team. Creating new world records. But there’s no greater pride than hearing 140 crores of fans chanting- “India, India”. So come with this pride let’s take the world but before that let’s conquer Asia,”
ROHIT SHARMA SAID IN A VIDEO POSTED BY HIM ON HIS TWITTER ACCOUNT.
Currently, West Indies and Team India are engaged in a T20I series. With two games remaining, which will be played in Florida on August 6 and 7, they have a 2-1 series lead.
Asia Cup title holders at the moment are the Indian team, which is captained by Rohit Sharma. They would be attempting to defend their championship after crushing Bangladesh in 2018 to win the trophy in the UAE during a 50-over competition.
