Virat Kohli Smashes his 71st International Century against Afghanistan

Virat Kohli's 71st century

Virat Kohli smashed his first-ever century in T20Is, reaching the milestone in just 53 balls against Afghanistan in India’s final match in Asia Cup 2022.
Virat has finally scored his 71st after a very long while. His last international century came against Bangladesh in a Pink Ball test back in 2019. Hence, Kohli has hit an international century after 1,019 days. With this, he equates former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting’s record of 71 centuries.

In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Kl Rahul started for India with the former India captain batting to regain his legacy.

Virat’s 71st century came at the unlikeliest of matches when he reached the coveted triple figures. While India has no chances left to reach Asia Cup 2022 finals, Virat’s recently found form and confidence is good news, ahead f the upcoming T20 World Cup.
