“The Kashmir Files”: A tale of human tragedy missing in history
“The Kashmir Files” is a movie directed by reputed director Vivek Agnihotri. He in past, directed “The Tashkent Files”, a film on the former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri’s mysterious demise. Renowned actors Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty play crucial roles in “The Kashmir Files”.
The movie accordingly chronicles from ‘Article 370’ to the rich history and mythology of the state. It subsequently goes into the annals of the 90s of the diaspora of Kashmiri Hindus in the face of terror. Additionally, the film highlights how political pressure was key in suppressing the phase of distress.
Many Kashmiri Hindus like Raina, have therefore come out in support of the film that speaks and fights for them. However, the movie is not getting the same amount of promotion as any other Friday release because of its controversial theme. Hence, netizens have hailed Agnihotri and his crew for creating a saga that has skipped our history books but remains a story of human tragedy in post-independent India.
