SA vs ENG 2nd Test Day2: Ben Stokes and Ben Foakes shine. While the wicket-keeper batter, Ben Foakes hit an unbeaten knock of 113 runs, the English Captain Ben Stokes’s 103 was marvelous too. Both became the top scorer for England in the second innings of the….. Stokes and Foakes’ 173-run partnership and some cameos from the tail-enders helped England present a 246 led, putting the visitors under immense pressure.
While for the Proteas, it was Anrich Nortje’s disciplined bowling that helped him dismiss Jonny Bairstow and Zak Crawley in the first session. Kagiso Rabada got rid of the dangerous-looking Ben Stokes. Moreover, Keshav Maharaj and Simon Harmer picked three each for themselves. A lack of discipline can be noticed at the end of this innings by the South African bowlers. As they were unable to use the fall of wickets and let the tail-enders get away with some runs.

SA vs ENG Day2: Ben Stokes’ interesting decision
As the third innings proceeded South African captain Dean Alger and Sarel Erwee came in to face English bowlers. James Anderson starts with the new ball. While Anderson bowling with the new ball is as usual as always. However, Captain Stokes decides to bring his spinner, Jack Leach, in the fifth over itself. Hoping to see Leach get as much purchase as the spin-twin Keshav Maharaj and Simon Harmer got for the Proteas.
England appears to be in great control up till now. They will hope to revert and make a comeback after the paltry defeat in the first test. If Stokes’ bowler could get him a few early wickets then it’ll be a tough chance for the visitors. On the other hand, Dean Alger will hope to play a captain’s knock and provide his team with a foundation.
While the hosts will enter the field with their all guns blazing. The visitors would hope for an anchoring inning from their openers as they will start their 3rd day at 23 for none.
