The second T20 played between the two cricketing nations saw numerous records being broken by the legendary Pakistani opening pair, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Chasing a massive target of 200, the opening duo played with such ease, that was commendable. Azam and Rizwan chased the target with three balls to spare and didn’t even trouble any other batter to come on the field. As both of them finished the mighty task themselves.
Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam becomes the only third player to score a ton in all three formats of the game. Moreover, with his century against England at Karachi, Azam set a record by scoring all three centuries at the same venue. Moreover, the captain becomes the 6th player to score at least 2 centuries in each of the three formats. Along with this, the 27-year-old scored the 2nd highest runs by a men’s team captain while chasing. The first of which was also in his name, that is 122 runs.
Ahead of this series, the Pakistan captain was much criticized for his form. Especially, his performance in the latest Asia Cup edition raised a lot of eyebrows on him. While in cricket one only needs an innings to shut all the mouths and Babar’s ton on Thursday was one such.
