The World Cup-winning coach, Trevor Bayliss is all set to join Punjab Kings as the head coach ahead of the 2024 IPL edition. 59-year-old Bayliss had guided England to their maiden ODI World Cup title in 2019. He coached Sri Lanka and finished as runners-up in the 2011 World Cup. With Bayliss’ achievements and experiences, Punjab Kings, who has only featured in one IPL final, would hope to exceed the expectations of their fans and supporters.
An IPL source stated, “The team has decided to go ahead with Trevor who is among the best in the business and has a proven record. The management is hoping that the team goes on to win the title under his guidance.”
However, the final paperwork on Bayliss’ signing is yet to be done and is expected to be completed soon.

About Trevor Bayliss
Former Indian coach Bayliss has headed the support staff of Kolkata Knight Riders in their title editions, 2012 and 2014. He has been a regular IPL coach and has most recently coached the Sunrises Hyderabad. Along with other teams in several franchise leagues.
Trevor Harley Bayliss was born on 21st December 1962 in New South Wales, Australia. He is the current coach of the London Spirit at the men’s Hundred event in England. He played for New South Wales between 1985 and 1997, before becoming a coach.
Punjab Kings’ Previous Coaches
Previously Anil Kumble was the head coach of this IPL franchise. Under Kumble, Kings won 19 and lost 23 matches over a span of three years. That is the second worst win-loss ratio for any team in IPL since 2020, after Sunrises Hyderabad. Concerning their team’s performance, the decision to let Kumble go was taken by a board comprising co-owners Preity Zinta Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, and Karan Paul, as well as the team’s chief executive officer Satish Menon.

After completing the final paperwork Trevor Bayliss will become the sixth coach Kings have appointed in six seasons after Sanjay Bangar(2014-16), Virender Sehwag (2017), Brad Hodge (2018), Mike Hesson (2019), and Anil Kumble.
