Rohit Sharma and his men have left for the T20 World Cup 2022. The team members were seen wearing dark blue tuxedos with BCCI’s logo on it, as they pose for a picture. The official social media handles of BCCI posted the picture of the Indian squad, including the support staff with a caption that read, “Picture perfect, let’s do this #TeamIndia @cricketworldcup here we come.”
The Men in Blue will start their campaign against arch-rival Pakistan on October 23, at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. The 2007 champions will look to win their second T20 World Cup title. Moreover, the team had to fly to the venue without their 15th player. As the key player Jasprit Bumrah was recently ruled out of the team due to a severe back injury. His replacement is yet to be announced. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will also miss the marquee tournament because he is still nursing his knee injury.
While one of Deepak Chahar or Mohammad Shami could replace him. However, Mohammad Siraj and Umesh Yadav could also be considered as alternatives.
