Legendary Indian fast baller Jhulan Goswami on Saturday receives a guard of honor from rival team England W and her fellow batter, as she steps out bat for the very last time in international cricket. The 39-year-old had announced her retirement post the India Women’s Tour of England. Hence, this is going to be her last outing in the Indian jersey.
West Bengal-based Goswami has had a 20-year-long career. She not only made the country proud but has inspired numerous little girls from small cities.
While India W has sealed a 2-0 lead in the three-match series against England W in England, Kaur’s team would like to whitewash Amy Jones-led England, to bid Jhulan Goswami a marvelous farewell.
Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur couldn’t hold back her tears as Jhulan Goswami bids adieu to the team
As the Indian Women’s cricket team stepped into the iconic Lord’s ground, Harmanpreet Kaur got very emotional and hugged the veteran baller. The Indian pace bowler and Harmanpreet’s senior will bid adieu to the sport at the end of this game.
Goswami will leave the game as the highest wicket-taker in women’s international cricket. Since she has a total of 352 wickets across all three formats. Her career might get to an end, but her legacy will always be never-ending.
