Do or Die match!! The 48th match of IPL 2021, scheduled at Sharjah Cricket Stadium was between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings. Four teams now have the same points, so this match would matter a lot for PBKS. So let’s have a quick recap of the match. PKBS managed to keep RCB around 160s as they dismissed 3 batters in the last over. PBKS lost the match due to the middle order collapse. Magnificent bowling from RCB in the end as they won the match by 6 runs. To start with the match, RCB won the toss and decided to bat first. Although RCB started off quite well, the team tumbled around the 10th and 11th over. Moises Henriques clinched 3 big wickets and conceded just 12 runs in 4 overs. He dismissed Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal and Dan Christian. However, to balance the team, Glenn Maxwell showed his heroics. He knocked 4 sixes and 3 fours to score 57 off 33. This knock along with AB De Villiers 23 off 18 helped RCB to come around 160s. As the last over was quite rough for RCB, they were able to put 164 on the board. Mohd Shami took 3 wickets in the last over and did splendid bowling.

In the second innings, PBKS also started off well. The openers put up a strong partnership of 90 runs in 11 overs. KL Rahul scored 39 off 35 while Mayank Agarwal smashed 57 off 42. However the team tumbled after that and went from 91 for 0 to 127 for 5. Brilliant bowling by Yuzvendra Chahal as he clinched 3 wickets at an economy of 7.25. The middle order turned out to be a debacle. PBKS failed to chase the target despite a good start. RCB crushed their chances of making it to the playoffs.

Who all witnessed the Maxwell show?? The Australian Cricketer Glenn Maxwell bags the Man of the Match award for his incredible innings. He mustered the bowlers and smashed 57 off 33 at a strike rate of 172. His knock helped to rescue the team which was in deep trouble. This helped RCB to put up a defendable target on the board.
