Crucial match for both the teams!! The 45th match of IPL 2021, scheduled at Dubai International stadium was between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. PBKS would hope to win this game to keep their chances of making it to the playoffs alive. While KKR would hope to save their position in the playoffs. So let’s have a glimpse of the match summary. KKR started off well but managed to put 165 runs on the board. Brilliant efforts by Punjab Bowlers. To begin with the match, PBKS won the toss and decided to bowl first. Although they managed to dismiss an opener in the 3rd over, the next few overs were rough for them. Venkatesh Iyer and Rahul Tripathi helped to maintain the momentum. While Rahul scored 34 off 26, Venkatesh smashed a gutsy knock of 67 off 49. Although they started off well, the team collapsed after the dismissal of Nitish Rana. Splendid spells from Mohd Shami, Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi. Mohd. Shami conceded just 23 runs and took 1 wicket while Ravi Bishnoi took 2 wickets by conceding 22 runs.

In the second innings, Punjab also took off well as they lost their 1st wicket in the 9th over. Both the openers looked strong and helped the team to go ahead. Mayank Agarwal scored 40 off 27 at a strike rate of 148. While KL Rahul fulfilled his part very well and smashed 67 off 55. Although the middle order fumbled a little bit, Shahrukh Khan ensured the win by knocking 22 runs off 9 balls. Despite some good efforts by KKR bowlers, they lost the match. Punjab Kings won the match by 5 wickets and 3 balls left.

The Indian opener bags the Man of the Match award for his incredible innings. KL Rahul smashed a gutsy knock of 67 off 55 balls at a strike rate of 121. He did his part very well as a captain and led the team to victory. PBKS still has some hopes to make it to the playoffs, so let’s see what happens.
