In the second innings, MI tumbled as the two top order batters got dismissed in early overs. However the middle order did their job really well. They pulled the team out from the muddle and sealed the win. Saurabh Tiwary smashed a gutsy knock of 45 from 37 to maintain the momentum. In addition to this, Hardik Pandya scored 40 off 30 and led the team to the victory along with Pollard. As a result, MI won the match by 6 wickets and 1 over left. Although the PKBS bowlers gave their best shot, they failed to restrict MI from chasing down the target.

The great West Indies player received the Man of the Match award for his exceptional performance overall. Kieron Pollard dismissed KL Rahul and Chris Gayle in his 1 over and turned the tables.
