AUS vs WI: Aussies in disarray, a 4-1 series victory to West Indies

AUS vs WI: WI played the way they play T-20 cricket, fierce, fascinating and fantastic. They outplayed the Australians in almost every department of every match they have won. Australians still have a lot of work to do in T-20 cricket.

AUS vs WI: Lewis storm

WI won the toss and decided to put runs on the board. Evin Lewis seems to be in the form of his life. He scored 79 runs in mere 34 balls. He hit 4 fours and 9 maximums at an astounding strike rate of 232.35. In just 11 overs, WI had scored 124. Chris Gayle played a 7 ball cameo for 21 runs. The way WI were striking, 220 seemed to be their target, but Australia bowled some good overs and took wickets, and kept the score to 199/8 in 20 overs. Hayden Walsh’s 12(8) took the score close to 200 and gave WI a psychological advantage.

A good fightback from the bowlers

Just like Evin Lewis, Mitchel Marsh looks to be in the form of his life. He bowled 2 overs for 12 runs. He took the most important wicket of Evin Lewis and experienced Lendl Simmons. Andrew Tye took 3 wickets for 37 runs. The leg spinner Zampa bowled well, especially when every other partner of his was taking some toll. He took 2 for 30, an economy of  7.50  is really impressive.

T-20 Cricket, need of an era, Australia seems to be lacking in that

At any time in the 2nd innings, Australia never seemed to be in the game. They lost wickets at regular intervals. Mitchell Marsh’s 15 ball cameo produced 30 runs, but Australia was in need of more than a cameo. Aaron Finch and Matthew Wade tried, but they just couldn’t get going. Australia finished their 20 overs and scored 189/9.

Sheldon Cottrell took 3-28. Russell also scalped 3 but was a touch expensive. Chris Gayle bowled 3 overs of off-spin and conceded just 9 runs.

AUS vs WI: A series wrap up

An all-rounder performance from WI helped to win the series by 4-1. It isn’t surprising to see WI dominating the T-20 game, but it is sure to see Australia getting crumbled against the vicious West Indies. It could have easily been 5-0, but starc’s last over in the 4th game kept Australia from that humiliation.

Evin Lewis won the Player of the Match for formidable hitting and Hayden Walsh Jr has been announced as Player of the Series.
