Arjun Tendulkar to play for Goa in the upcoming domestic season, waits for NOC from Mumbai Cricket Association

Junior Tendulkar has not got enough chances to play for Mumbai in the past years. Therefore, Arjun Tendulkar is planning to play for Goa Cricket Association in the 2022-23 domestic season. He is seeking a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from MCA. Once he gets clearance from the Mumbai Cricket Association, he will be eligible to go ahead and play for some other teams. At the moment Arjun’s priority is to get more playtime. Which he clearly wasn’t getting, playing for Mumbai. Earlier, he had been a part of the Ranji squad. However, his Ranji Trophy debut still awaits. In addition, he made only 2 T20 appearances so far in SMAT 2020-21.

SRT Sports Management released a statement talking about not getting enough play time being the reason behind Arjun’s shift. I said, “getting maximum game time on the ground is important for Arjun at this juncture of his career. We believe that the shift will improve the probability of Arjun featuring in more competitive matches. He is embarking on a new phase of his cricketing career.”

It is to be noted that Tendulkar played 2 matches for Mumbai in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020-21. However, he didn’t get a chance to play even a single match for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022. The 22-year-old is shifting to Goa to get more exposure.

Arjun to be considered for state’s pre-season probables: Suraj Lotlikar, President, GCA

“We have been looking out for left-hand bowling talent [and to] also add players to the middle order with multiple skills. In this context, we invited Arjun Tendulkar to join the Goa side. We will be playing pre-season trial matches (white ball) and he will be playing in those games. The selectors will then take a call based on his performance,” said Lotlikar.
