Ambati Rayudu calls curtain on his IPL career!

Ambati Rayudu has announced his retirement from the IPL with the final against Gujarat Titans on Sunday being his last game. Through twitter he confirmed that the game against Gujarat Titans will be his last game in the IPL. He wrote on his official Twitter account “2 great teams mi nd csk,204 matches,14 seasons, 11 playoffs ,8 finals,5 trophies. hopefully 6th tonight. It’s been quite a journey.I have decided that tonight’s final is going to be my last game in the Ipl.i truly hav enjoyed playing this great tournament. Thank u all. No u turn.”

Earlier, Rayudu had tweeted about his retirement in 2022. But deleted the tweet after a conversation with the team management at CSK. That’s why he has written in his tweet this time ” No u turn”.

Ambati Rayudu’s IPL Career

The 37-year-old batter made his debut in the IPL with Mumbai Indians in 2010. The right-handed batsman scored 356 runs in 14 matches in his first season. Later, he also returned with 300+ runs in the next two seasons. He won three titles with the Mumbai franchise till 2017.

After that, he joined CSK in 2018 at the price of 2.40 crore. He came up with an astonishing batting show in the season. He smashed 602 runs in 16 games for CSK. In the 2021 season, Rayudu scored 257 runs in 16 matches for CSK. He was released by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. But, he was again bought by CSK for INR 6.75 Crores in IPL 2022 auction.

Rayudu has scored 4,329 runs in 203 matches in the IPL, at an average of 28.29, while striking at 127.29. He has 22 half-centuries and one hundred in his glittering IPL career. Moreover, For India, he has played 55 ODIs and scored 1694 runs at an average of 47. He has 3 hundred and 10 fifties to his name. He announced his retirement from international cricket in 2019 after being overlooked for the 2019 World Cup in England.
