The Golden State Warrior’s recent performances of the 2022-23 NBA season have been called out by a particular NBA analyst, Stephen A Smith. The team, led by its superstar Stephen Curry, claimed its seventh NBA championship in 2022 by defeating the Boston Celtics in the finals. Despite the Dub Nation’s celebration of their team’s victory last year and after a four-year wait.
During this season, the Warriors are lately not in a good form and most of them are due to several injuries the players are going through. Dub Nation’s star and point guard Stephen Curry is also facing injuries that have caused him to miss 22 games this season. 11 of which were due to right shoulder subluxation and the other 11 due to a left leg injury. While the Warriors are currently in the fifth position of the Western Conference Standings, they have lost 24 out of the 31 away games played this season. Stephen A Smith is disappointed with the Golden State Warriors and its recent performances
During a recent episode of the NBA First Take show, sports commentator and analyst Stephen A. Smith gave his opinion on the Warriors’ poor performances in their away games.
When asked if the warrior’s situation was a real problem or not, Smith responded, “Of course it is. I mean, we all know how I feel about the Warriors. I picked them to win last year and had them represent this year again. This year on the road, they are inexplicably atrocious. It’s just that simple. To the Golden State Warriors, I don’t know what the hell is going on but there’s no excuse to be 7-24 on the road. That is just an utter embarrassment and a disgrace for a reigning champion.”
Despite all of this, Smith also praised Klay Thompson for his impressive performances in the recent games that have led the Warriors to balance themselves in the league. The five-time NBA All-Star and a famous one among the splash brother duo has been leading his team in Curry’s absence while also performing as the team need. Klay’s been averaging around 22.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game this season which is among one of the bests in the league right now. Conclusion
The Warriors’ recent gameplays of the run have been a cause of concern for the fans, particularly given their status as the reigning champions. With Curry’s injuries and the team’s poor “away” record, they will need to step up their game if they anyhow hope to defend their title in the upcoming playoffs. However, with Thompson’s impressive performances and the team’s overall talent, the Warriors still have a chance to make it into the playoff run.
