All Elite Wrestling CEO Tony Khan gave his views on the possibility of him and his family purchasing the WWE.
Tony Khan Interested In Purchasing His Rival
Tony Khan appeared as guest on a recent edition of The Maggie and Perloff Show. In an unexpected turn of events, Khan disclosed that he is ‘interested’ in the recent news of the WWE being up for sale.
He stated, “I am interested in the news that there is potentially a sale process and certainly I think we’ve shown when there are acquisitions and transactions, we’re capable of making the big purchases. AEW is my main focus, but certainly when that news is out there, it’s very interesting.”
This adds fuel to fire as a week back, reports stated that the Khan family was interested in purchasing the WWE. But Tony Khan did confess that all of this is quite preliminary. “It’s very preliminary to talk about that process. If there is a process there, which it sounds like there may be, I’m interested in being part of it,” Khan added.
Being an experienced businessman himself, Khan incited curiosity and encouraged viewers to tune into AEW Dynamite and AEW Rampage as one never knows when he might address or announce something related to the purchase of the WWE.
AEW was victorious from the Wednesday Night War when it defeated NXT in a viewership battle.

Audience Reaction To The Tony Khan Bombshell
Fans were left stunned at Khan’s revelation. Many felt that he’s purposefully inciting excitement to prompt curious wrestling fans to tune into AEW’s weekly television in anticipation of an update on the matter.
They additionally find it difficult to believe that the WWE would let its rival purchase the company. Buying one’s competition isn’t at all unheard of in the wrestling world, but wrestling fans are pessimistic about this one as in this case, it’s the smaller rival wanting to buy the bigger shark. Khan would additionally require financial and television support to pull off a sale of this magnitude.
Others feel that Tony Khan and his family at the end of the day, is all about business. Hence, if an interesting opportunity like this appears, what stops Khan from capitalizing on a huge window for profit and a global audience?
