Deutschland – The Land of Football Legends. The hidden team, with four titles, 19 appearances out of a maximum of 21, and top three placements in every decade, Germany might be the most underappreciated team at World Cups.
The Germans have made it to every FIFA World Cup minus 1930 (did not enter), and 1950 (banned from entering). The Germans first entered the FIFA World Cup in 1934 and they surprised the footballing world by fetching a hard-earned third place. Germany’s first taste of gold came in 1954, four years after the shameful ban. In 1974, Franz Beckenbauer led the team to their second WC glory. Sixteen years later, Beckenbauer returned as manager to lead the Elevens for another World Cup. Of all of Germany’s victories, their fourth is the most memorable. The 2014 glory remains etched as a bloody victory for the Germans, thanks to Mario Gotze, and the biggest heartbreak for Albeceleiste and Leo Messi fans across the globe.
The 2014 victory awakened the winners’ curse. The Germans failed to qualify their groups for the first time since 1978. Can the Germans qualify and move to the QFs? Can Muller, Neuer, and Kroos go out with a bang?

FIFA World Cup 2022: Definitely not the best group for the Germans
Germany is drawn together with 2010 champions Spain, Asian Powerhouses Japan, and CONCACAF dark horses Costa Rica. Group E smells of heartbreak and some beautiful football.
Spain and Germany are top favorites to qualify from Group E. But, can we overlook Costa Rica? The same Costa Rica who topped the group with three former champions in 2014. The team that everyone expected to finish last became one of the best eight teams in the World Cup. Japan can be easily defeated but it seems it’s either a major upset or a wonderful game.
On who is topping Group E, It is between Germany and Spain. Germany failed to qualify for the final four with a disappointing six games. Meanwhile, Spain qualified top of the group to the final four after a remarking display of the game against Portugal.
