What we know:
The Washington Wizards are going to hire James Posey as assistant coach. He will be joining Wes Unseld Jr.’s staff.
After ending a six-season contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers as an assistant coach in 2019, Posey will now be returning to the NBA sidelines. He played a really big role in the Cavaliers’ four-straight Finals appearances.

About James Posey:
Before going for coaching as a career, Posey played twelve seasons in the NBA. He averaged 8.6 points and 4.7 assists over the 864 games of his career.
He also won two championships as a player. Winning one with Miami Heat in 2006 and the second with Boston Celtics in 2008.
Posey didn’t just play for the Heat and the Celtics though. He also played for Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers and the Hornets.
Poesy spent the last season as an assistant coach for the University of Virginia women’s basketball program. Furthermore, he also guided NBA Draft prospects at the Tampa Bay Pro Combine for two years.
In more recent times, he’s become a very influential person in the basketball community. He leads his podcast, “The Posecast” along with guests like Zach Randolph, David West, Charles Oakley, Clyde Dexter and the legend, Ray Allen.

Washington Wizards’ future:
With a star-level career and a bunch of subsequent years in the coaching field of the sport, it is safe to say that the Wizards are in safe hands.
Over the years, James Posey has proved how versatile and significant he is with his knowledge, and is sure to lead the Washington Wizards to great lengths.
