Giannis Antetokounmpo has confirmed his stance on playing for his country at the EuroBasket 2022. Let’s dive right into the details.

What we know:

In 2021, Greece was just one game short of being able to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics. It lost to Czech Republic. 

Since his team, the Bucks, was preparing for the NBA Finals, Giannis Antetokounmpo wasn’t able to play for Greece that year. However, the question of Antetokounmpo playing for Greece has been answered by the “Greek Freak” himself. 

The two-time MVP confirmed on Twitter that he will be playing at the EuroBasket in 2022. 

The privilege of making your country proud on a global scale is one which is bestowed to a few, and the best player in Greece is one of them. He takes great pride in representing his home country

We are just a couple of months from the tournament and all the fans are excited to watch their favorite play for his country. Antetokounmpo has appeared in 22 games for Greece.

Greece is in Group C, along with Italy, Croatia, Great Britain, Estonia and Ukraine.
