His first match was against Assam and he scored brilliant in his entry into professional cricket. He smashed 71 runs in the first and 13 runs in the second innings of the match along with performing as a genius behind the stumps. After the Ranji series, he got selected for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and scored 88 runs against Suarashtra which led his team to the victory.
