In a heartfelt Instagram post on Friday morning, Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin revealed the tragic loss of his unborn child, a baby girl anticipated to arrive in April.
The Red Wings’ recent back-to-back games against the New York Rangers and the Chicago Blackhawks saw Larkin’s absence, prompting concern among fans and followers.

Head coach Derek Lalonde expressed his optimism earlier in the week, aiming for Larkin’s return to the ice against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday. In a confirming statement on Friday, the team disclosed that Larkin will indeed travel to Montreal and participate in the upcoming game.
In the Instagram post, Larkin conveyed the profound sorrow stating, “This week my wife and I said goodbye to our baby. It’s hard to find words or positivity in this, but we greatly appreciate your support and understanding, and thank you for respecting our privacy.”
Although, there was rumours of a breakup in 2021, Kenzie and Dylan continued their relationship. Kenzie and Dylan also parent a dog together. Dylan Larkin married Kenzie this year in a close ceremony during the off-season.
