After the full-fledged tour of England, the Indian team will visit the Caribbean shores for T20 and ODI series. According to the latest buzz, a couple of Indian white-ball regulars might be rested for the West Indies tour. The squad for the tour was to be announced a few days ago but the selectors decided to wait for the Edgbaston test to get over. Chetan Sharma, the head of the committee is in England and might have a word with the skipper Rohit Sharma and other seniors of the side. The names of the players to be rested haven’t been locked yet.

Indian White-ball Regulars Might Be Rested For The West Indies Tour
The senior Indian team has been led by a total of 6 captains this year and the selectors want to halt this inconsistency. Thus, in all likelihood, Rohit Sharma won’t be given a rest and he will continue leading the team. Also, it will ease coach Dravid’s workload as he’s been regularly working with different captains. Players like Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshvar Kumar might be given a break as the two are already sure of their places in the playing XI.
VVS Laxman, who helmed the head coach’s role in the series against Ireland, will continue being with the team. He was also there with the players during the two warm-up matches India played against Derbyshire and Northamptonshire recently.
The first match of the T20 series will be played on the 7th of July. Players comprising the squad for the first T20 have already reached Southampton barring skipper Sharma. Rohit is in Edgbaston with the test squad and he expected to leave for Southampton soon.
India fell prey to England’s Bazball theory as the Englishmen cakewalked the mammoth chase of 378 runs earlier today. Jonny Bairstow, who’s been a revelation under Brendon McCullum’s coaching, scored twin tons to lead England to the victory. India will be eager to bounce back in style in the white ball series which commences on the 7th of July in Southampton. After the first match, teams will move back to Birmingham for the 2nd T20I and then the caravan will shift to Nottingham for the final game.
