Wimbledon 2022 is missing World's top two ATP players!

The 146th year of Wimbledon has begun on Monday, that is, from 27 June 2022. This year’s Wimbledon will miss many top players due to the ban on Russian and Belarusian players. Let us take a glimpse of the Wimbledon day 1:

Men’s Singles

Alcaraz continues his debutant Wimbledon appearance

The young teen from Spain battled for more than four hours in a dramatic match against Stuff. Even after losing the first and third set, Alcaraz however holds the match in the fourth set tiebreak. It was all game of game breaks and dozens of exquisite shots throughout the match. Carlos Alcaraz will play the second round on Wednesday.

Djokovic recovers from one set down to advance into the second round

The 1st-seed Novak Djokovic overcome the first set defeat against the Korean, Kwon. Even after a game break, Djokovic gained back two games to win the second set. Novak dominated the last couple of sets to manage his 1-1 set all to a superb match win. Djokovic recorded 80 wins in the Wimbledon after reigning first round versus Kwon.

Davidovich shocks the 7th-seed Hubert Hurkacz to head to the next stage

Hubert Hurkacz who just won his fifth career title last week defeating World No. one Medvedev, lost against Davidovich Fokina. Alejandro snatched the first set within a tough bound of the tiebreak and also the second, however, World No 10 returned as a storm. Hubert managed to take a game break at the third set to make it 7-5 and easily wrapped the fourth. But, the Spaniard passed through an incredible tight deciding match tiebreak to win the round.

Women’s Singles

Jabeur continues her winning strike through the first round

Ons Jabeur, Tunisian No one, performed very well against the Swedish, M. Bjorklund. At 3-3(40-40) Jabeur saved her two break points ultimately, wrapping up the match in straight sets. The 3rd-seed will face K. Kawa in the second round on Wednesday.

Raducanu pursue her second Wimbledon appearance

The 2021 US Open champion, Emma Raducanu marches ahead to the second round defeating Van Uytvanck. She was at an early game break but, recovered immediately to level games in the first set. Also, Emma fought hard for a few game points for remaining in the match. Therefore, advancing to the second round to play against Carolina Garcia on Wednesday.

Kontaveit, World No. 2, advances to the second round

Anett Kontaveit hammered out the unseeded American, Pera from the very first round. Pera was quite tough to break through until Kontaveit was leading at her service at 5-6. Anett took the advantage at a 5-6 lead to steal the first set. Although, it was bread and butter for Anett to win the second set and the match. She will face J. Niemeier in the next round on Wednesday.
