Déjà vu at Barcelona Open 2022 as Carlos Alcaraz breaks the top 10

On 25 April 2022, the young Spanian Carlos Alcaraz breaks the ATP Top 10 for the first time after Barcelona Open 2022. He achieved this by defeating the World no. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas in quarterfinals by 6-4,5-7,6-2. On the same date, in 2005, the 21-times major champion Rafael Nadal achieved the same. He become the youngest Spanian player since Rafael Nadal in 2005 to break through the Top 10.

18-year-old Carlos Alcaraz breaks the ATP Top 10 on Monday after his victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas. He is a tremendously athletic, intelligent shots selector and a special player in the tennis world. Carlos has three career titles and 53-21(71.6% win-loss percentage) to date.

The young man played his last tournament in Monte-Carlos Masters 2022 however, could not make it to the quarterfinals. Carlos won his third career title in Miami Open Masters 1000 this year beating World no. 7 Casper Ruud.

He will face Alex de Minaur in semifinals of Barcelona Open 2022 to fix place in finals.
