Novak Djokovic vs Karen Khachanov Match Prediction, Head-to-head, preview, Betting Tips and Live StreamĀ – Serbia Open 2022

Djokovic expected to move on to yet another final.

World No.1 Novak Djokovic will take on Russia’s Karen Khachanov in the Semifinal of the 2022 Serbia Open on Saturday, April 23.

Novak Djokovic has played very little tennis this year so far. Having refused to get vaccinated against the covid-19, the world no.1 was not allowed to participate in the Australian Open 2022. He also missed out on many more major tournaments including the sunshine masters for the same reason. Even for a player of his caliber, missing out tournaments made him rusty and he started his clay season with a loss in the very first round of the Monte Carlo Masters against Spain’s Davidovich Fokina. In the first round of the Serbia Open, he faced a fellow Serb Laslo Djere and played three tight sets to win the match. In the quarterfinal, he faced the in form Kecmanovic and lost the first set 6-4. Being a set down, the Top seed played some impressive tennis to win the second and third set. Djokovic seemed like he has gained back his peak form and he played his usual level of tennis to win the match.

Karen Khachanov is having a lucky tournament so far. Having come into the tournament with four losses in a row, he qualified to the quarterfinal without playing a match where he beat the Brazilian Thiago Monteiro in straight sets. Khachanov had earlier reached the final of the ATP Adelaide International following which he made the third round atĀ Australian Open and a semifinal in Doha. However, since then, things have been difficult for the Russian. An early exit in Dubai followed by three defeats in a row including an opening loss in Monte-Carlo. The quarterfinal win would have boosted, giving him hopes to beat the top seeded Serbian.

Novak Djokovic vs Karen Khachanov Prediction: Who will win this match?

Djokovic seemed to shake off all the rustiness in his game. In his match against Kecmanovic, we saw glimpses of the Djokovic who won 20 grand slams. On the other hand, Khachanov has only one match in the past two months. It is highly unlikely for the Serb to loose this contest. After an early exit in Monte Carlo, Djokovic will be eyeing the title to gain back his confidence. Expect him to end the match in two long sets.

Prediction: Novak Djokovic to win in straight sets.
