Petra Kvitová becomes Eastbourne International 2022 Women’s Singles champion

After a long wait, Petra Kvitova lifted her 29th career title in Eastbourne beating the defending champion, Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets.

The two-times Wimbledon champion, Petra Kvitová claimed her 1st Eastbourne International title. The 32-year-old, Petra Kvitová becomes Eastbourne International 2022 Women’s Singles champion defeating the defending champion, Jelena Ostapenko.

Kvitová achieved her 29th career title defeating the 8th-seed Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets. She was brilliant throughout the match. Petra fired 7 aces with just a single double fault against the reign champion. The 14th-seed from the Czech converted three break points out of eleven versus Jelena.

The whole tournament, she was only one set down against Katie Boulter. She was ravishing against Jelena with an 80% first serve percentage which makes this win more sensational. It all took 1 hour and 17 minutes to record her first Eastbourne title.

It was all a hurricane of spectacular shorts against the defending champion, therefore, leading to a 6-3,6-2 win.

Petra Kvitová won her 5th career grass title

The unbelievable Czech performed extremely dominating and hit electric forehands down the baseline. Kvitová won her first career title since the 2021 Doha Open. She is not with 5-1 in grass-court finals.

Petra Kvitová is the only Women player to win 29 career titles after Serena Williams(41). She also becomes the fifth player over the age of 30 to win a title this year. Petra destroyed Ostapenko’s consecutive nine-winning streak in Eastbourne Final.
