“It’s a tough situation that I’m learning from”: Paula Badosa open up about various things before the French Open

The World No 3 will commence her French Open playing against the wildcard Fiona Ferro on Sunday

Paula Badosa from Spain will be the 3rd seed in the second Grand Slam of the year, the French Open. Paula is learning from all happenings around her in the last few weeks. She has been ranked as high as World number two on April 25. Badosa opened up about various things before the French Open.

After some ups and downs from the last two tournaments facing early defeats against Daria Kasatkina in the second round of the Italian Open. Before that, the former world number one Simona Halep buried Badosa in straight sets in the Madrid Open. She was mental fatigue after such early losses which led her to take some time to improve her mental health. Paula Badosa was on social detox for a week followed by the Italian Open.

What did Paula Badosa feel after her recent performances?

In a recent press conference on Friday, she talked about her improvements regarding these few weeks she went through. Also, she told the press about her learning stage will continue from entering the Roland Garros.

ofcourse there were expectations from the beginning of the year, because i’m a top-10 player. so you always have the expectation

Paula also confessed about her mental health and how she tackled it by distancing herself from social media. She was on social detox to avoid negativity from the fans after her recent results. Badosa admitted about the tough competitors she collapsed against in the early rounds of both the Madrid and Italian Open.

i felt that maybe the press, especially at home, was very mean in that case, because what i’m trying to do is just my job well. i give 100 percent everyday.

Badosa replied with a reason of not showing up on social media for that duration of time

Even after a loss against the former world No 1, Simona Halep she can get an easy start to her French Open tour. Because she will face wildcard from French, Fiona Ferro in the first round on Sunday, 22 May.

Badosa flashed light on the factors of her improvement

She stated, how she is recovering with the help of her team. Paula’s team is helping her out to focus back on her game plans. Paula also felt a bit calm already arriving at the tournament. She loves the court therefore it already pushing her up and helping her to improve better.
