Iga Świątek lifted her second Grand Slam defeating Coco Gauff

The young lady, Iga won her second Grand Slam with both majors title of the same Slam, i.e the Roland Garros

The Women’s World No one, Iga Świątek won the French Open 2022 Women’s Singles title at just the age of 21. She played mind-blowing tennis throughout the tournament and past a couple of months. Świątek lifted her second Grand Slam defeating Coco Gauff in straight sets.

Iga Świątek completed her 35th match win by beating the 18-year-old, Coco Gauff on Sunday. It took her only 63 minutes to achieve the second Roland Garros title within three years. She held her first Grand Slam on the same court in 2020 and she did it again in 2022.

The match summary

Coco Gauff could not keep the shots within the lines which piled up the number of unforced errors for the teen. Gauff was broken twice in the first set which resulted in 6-1 for the opening set. Soon, Gauff recovered her game by quick break of Świątek’s game at 2-0. However, Świątek came back with a fantastic couple of serves and powerful backhands down the line.

She remembered her first time lifting the same trophy back in 2020 which was the first time she had achieved something this big.

Iga reacted on Coco’s crying on final loss againt her.

This match was quite emotional for both the young players. Iga Świątek did break the record of Serena Williams of consecutive win streaks.

Also, Coco Gauff will be advancing to a new career-high as World No 13 as she reached her 1st major final at the age of 18.
