World No. 16 Diego Schwartzman will lock horns with home favorite Jack Sock in the first round of the 2022 US Open on Tuesday.
Schwartzman has had a pretty good season thus far. He lost in the second round of the Australian Open before winning the Argentina Open and the Rio Open in quick succession. He later exited Miami in the first round before losing in the third round in Indian Wells. With a quarterfinal finish in Monte Carlo, Schwartzman bounced back. He improved on that performance the following week by making the semifinals in Barcelona. In Madrid and Rome, he was unable to win back-to-back matches, but he did advance to the fourth round of the French Open. The grass swing of Schwartzman was miserable; he only managed to win one game. Prior to the US Open, the Argentinean competed in Canada and Cincinnati, where he was defeated in the second and third rounds.
This season’s tour kicked off in Dallas, where Jack Sock advanced to the second round. He reached this stage of his subsequent tournaments in Indian Wells and Delray Beach as well. The American subsequently lost in the first round at Miami and Houston. Along with playing in the mixed doubles tournament, he reached the semifinals with Coco Gauff. He left Newport in the second round to cap off his grass swing. In Atlanta, where he fell to Tommy Paul in the first round, Sock resumed his hardcourt season. The following week, he competed at the Citi Open and lost in the second round, however he and Nick Kyrgios won the doubles match. The 29-year-old was eliminated in Cincinnati’s preliminary rounds.

Diego Schwartzman vs Jack Sock Prediction
Although Sock is still a formidable opponent, he is no longer the player he once was. He continues to perform well in doubles, but his singles career seems to have reached a wall. He might compete with Schwartzman for first place, but the Argentinean should be able to hold his own.
