The American, who has now played in his first ATP final, has had a mixed season overall and a losing win-loss record. Giron has a 2022 record of 15 wins and 24 defeats. The American has advanced to the semifinals of the Dallas Open, the quarterfinals of the Mallorca Open, and the Mexican Open despite suffering numerous opening-round exits.
