A rising star amongst the young squad achieved 5 milestones in her fourth consecutive finals win.

The 20-year-old Iga Swiatek is in no mood to stop her growing number of wins. She continues to shine by defeating the former Stuttgart Open champion Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets to 6-2,6-2. Iga attains 5 milestones after winning the title in her stupendous career.

1. Iga Swiatek is the first player to win 30 matches this season

Swiatek has the most number of wins this season after a remarkable win over Aryna Sabalenka making it to a 30-3 win/loss record for this year. Swiatek lost the first match of the year against Ashleigh Barty in the semis of Adelaide Open by straight sets, then followed by defeat against Danielle Collins in the semifinals of AO, and the only defeat in Dubai against J. Ostapenko by three sets in the Round of 16 in three sets match.

2. Iga Swiatek perfections her career finals record to 7-1

Iga Swiatek accomplished 4 out of 7 titles in the last 9 weeks, that is – Qatar Open defeating A. Kontaveit in straight sets, Indian Wells Masters beating M. Sakkari to straight sets, Miami Open whitewashed Naomi Osaka by straight sets and the Stuttgart Open overcome Aryna Sabalenka to straight sets.

Swiatek only lost the first final of her career on the WTA Tour to the Slovenian Polona Hercog in Lugano.

3. Winning for the 7th time in straight sets in a row in finals

Her streak of winning finals in straight sets is mesmerising just like her. The 7th win came over Aryna Sabalenka in 6-2,6-2. Going back, she beat Naomi Osaka in Miami Open 2022 by 6-4,6-0. Previously defeated Maria Sakkari by 6-4,6-1 in Indian Wells Masters 2022. In Doha 2022 beat- Anett Kontaveit by 6-2,6-0 along with a win over Belinda Bencic by 6-2,6-2 in Adelaide 2021 and a complete whitewash over Karolina Pliskova by 6-0,6-0 in Rome 2021. Swiatek also beat Sofia Kenin at Roland Garros 2020 by 6-4,6-1.

4. Iga Swiatek joins the list of longest win streaks: 23 matches

Iga Swiatek dived into the list for the longest winning streak since 2000 tying former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka at the ninth spot. Venus Williams leads the list with 35 streaks in 2000 along with younger sister Serena Williams with 34 streaks in 2013. The William sisters’ shine integrated three more times as Serena got the 4th place with 27 streaks in Madrid 2015 and 6th place with 25 streaks in AO 2014. Venus got 8th place with 24 streaks in AO 2002.

Swiatek ties ninth position with Naomi with 23 streaks. Osaka achieved her 23rd streak at Miami Open 2021.

5. Iga Swiatek beat the top-10 opponents 5 out of 6 times

Swiatek beat the World No. 4 Aryna Sabalenka for the second time in the finals of Stuttgart Open 2022 as the first win was in Doha 2021, then World No. 2, in the quarterfinals.

She defeated Maria Sakkari (then No. 6) twice in the Doha Open 2022 semifinals and in the Indian Wells Masters 2022. Swiatek once beat A. Kontaveit (then No. 7) in the Doha Open finals whereas she lost her only top-10 opponent match against Ashleigh Barty (retired No. 1) in Adelaide.
