The Fate of Anaheim Ducks rests on themselves and St Louis Blues

The Stanley Cup race might be over for the Ducks today night, depending on their match and the Jets vs Blues match. Anaheim Ducks plays Vancouver Canucks at the Honda Centre in California.

Anaheim Ducks has 56 points from 69 games including 23 wins, 36 losses, and 10 OTLs. They have 13 matches including the Canucks’ fixture. The Ducks are currently placed seventh in the Pacific Division and 14th in the Western Conference.

The scenarios for Anaheim Ducks Elimination are

  • A Loss in any Fashion Against Canucks or
  • Winnipeg Jets gets at least one point against Blues

Anaheim will look forward to continue their form from the Blue Jackets game where they eliminated the Columbus outfit. However, The challenge posed by Canucks is not very small. They have defeated Anaheim twice already in the season, although one was in overtime. Canucks in their last four games have defeated two top two contenders – Stars and Kings.

Jets, on the other hand, are heavily superior on points against the Blues. Jets (39-28-3) has 81 points while Blues (30-33-5) has mere 65. The Jets in order to push Ducks out off Play-offs just need to push the game into the overtime.

Looking up the stats, Anaheim Ducks might bid post-season a bye tonight. If that happens, Ducks will become the fourth side to be eliminated. They’ll join San Jose Sharks, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Chicago Blackhawks. However, a win against Canucks and a Jets loss to Blues in the Regulation might help them to fight yet another day.
