Vegas Golden Knights absolutely demolished the Panthers to lift their first-ever Stanley Cup. The Golden Knights scored nine times against the Cats’ mere 3 goals.
Heading to a possible series clincher, Vegas started off their quest in a stellar fashion. Mark Stone started off the goal scoring 11 minutes into the game. The stalwart later scored twice to become the first-ever player to score a hat-trick in a series clinching SCF game since 1922. Nicholas Hague, Micheal Amadio, Ivan Barbashev, Reilly Smith, Alec Martinez chiped in one each to make the count. Jack Eichel assisted thrice and Adin Hill made 31 saves recording a 0.914 SV%.
Aaron Ekblad, Sam Bennett, Sam Reinhart scored the consolatory goals for the Panthers, The injury-ridden Panthers didn’t hold a chance to the rough and tough Golden Knights. Earlier, Florida lost Games 1, 2, and 4 to hmd the Vegas a massive 3-1 series lead. The stats ahead of the game predicted a 1 in 37 chance for a comeback. Vegas has joined history books as they became the team who took second-least amount of seasons (6th season) to lift maiden Stanley Cup. They follow Las Vegas Aces as the second Las Vegas-based club to win a championship. The victory also makes Nevada the thirteenth US State to win the coveted NHL.
