Chicago Blackhawks earns the first round pick for NHL Draft 2024 at the NHL Draft Lottery 2024 in Nashville earlier today. The Blackhawks who tanked third worst in the regular season now moves to the top pick. Anaheim Ducks will have the second overall pick.
Chicago Blackhawks who are bidding adieu to their Toews and Kane era now stands a huge chance to land the next generational talent – Connor Bedard. The Hawks are winning the Draft for the second time in franchise history. They last won a draft in 2007 where they picked one of Blackhawks’ best player Patrick Kane. Although, Chicago forms the Original Six, their best results came post 2007. In the last 15 years, Blackhawks have won three Stanley Cups, 2009-10, 2012-13, and 2013-14. - 2nd: Anaheim Ducks
- 3rd: Columbus Blue Jackets
- 4th: San Jose Sharks
- 5th: Montreal Canadiens
- 6th: Arizona Coyotes
- 7th: Philadelphia Flyers
- 8th: Washington Capitals
- 9th: Detroit Red Wings
- 10th: St. Louis Blues
- 11th: Vancouver Canucks
- 12th: Arizona Coyotes (from Ottawa Senators if not top five from trade that sent defenseman Jakob Chychrun to Canada’s capital in March)
- 13th: Buffalo Sabres
- 14th: Pittsburgh Penguins
- 15th: Nashville Predators
- 16th: Calgary Flames
The 17th to 32nd picks would be awarded to the Stanley Cup Playoffs teams, 17th-24th to the First Round Exits, 25th to 28th to Second Round Exits, 29th and 30th will be Conference Finals losers, 31st would be Stanley Cup runners-up and 32nd would be Stanley Cup winners
