After an impressive debut season for Mercedes, George Russell believes that his future is at the Silver Arrows.
Just The Beginning Of A Long Journey At Mercedes
The 24-year-old British driver is looking at long-term more than short-term. Russell got the best out of the relatively under-par W13 Silver Arrow. Despite the sluggish start, the British maintains optimism for his future at Mercedes. He stated, “You always want to arrive and fight for victory, but this is a long career. It’s a long journey we’re on together.”
An Unreliable W13 Didn’t Decay Russell’s Optimism
In spite of a rocky start to the 2022 season, the progress that Mercedes made throughout the remainder of the season encourages Russell. Mercedes ended up with consistent performances towards the second half of the season and closed the gap to Ferrari at second position. Hence, Russell sees no reason why Mercedes cannot carry on that momentum into 2024 and overtake its rivals.
