“I thought Sean Strickland defended his title!” says Dana White on Strickland’s title loss at UFC 297

UFC Universe got its new UFC middleweight champion in UFC 297 as Dricus du Plessis defeated Sean Strickland to win the title. He won the title fight by split decision and began his UFC Middleweight Championship reign. But a few fans and personalities, including Dana White, believe Strickland defended his title.

During the post-fight interview, Dana White said:

“I thought Sean Strickland won the last round and defended his title!”

Here is the complete statement:

“I had it 2-2 going into the last round, and I thought Sean Strickland won the last round. It was a close fight.”
