First, it was Almeria defender Marc Pubill who said:
“I think that someone decided that we weren’t allowed to win here at Bernabeu today, and that’s what happened. Nothing more to say.”
Later, Almeria midfielder Gonzalo Melero said:
“We can’t play like this; it’s impossible. I feel that we have been robbed. I’m disappointed to say that, but this goes beyond all the limits. It’s incredible.”
Not only them but also Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez said:
“It’s going to be very difficult to win this league. There are things that we can’t control. Everyone saw what happened today (referring to the referee decision in the Madrid vs. Almeria match).”

In return, Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal replied to Gonzalo Melero:

“The referee’s decisions were correct today; I am sure of that once again. I understand the reaction from Almeria, as they were leading 2-0, but it was all correct.”
