Max Verstappen gives a savage reply when asked about being booed by fans

Formula 1 since 2010 has been ruled by two teams, i.e., Red Bull Racing and Mercedes. Both the constructors and drivers championships are won by them, respectively. Red Bull were the champions from 2010 to 2013, Mercedes were the champions from 2014 to 2020, and since 2021, Red Bull has been dominating to date.

Not only have they shared the championship among themselves, but they have also shared the hate and booing of fans. Recently, Red Bull driver, Max Verstappen faced one of the booing incidents at the 2024 Austin Grand Prix. When he was asked about it, he gave a savage reply.

The interviewer asked, Does the booing annoy you? and Max Verstappen answered,

“In the end, I’m the one taking the trophy home, so it’s fine with me!”

He concluded by saying, “Then I’ll still go home with the trophy, so it’s all good!”

Yup, Verstappen is right! Booing neither makes a person weak nor strong. It is all in the mind about how the person deals with it. Many F1 legends like Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, and many more have faced a similar issue, and all of them have turned the booing into claps.

Not just F1 but sports like football, tennis, American football, cricket, and many more have witnessed the same problem. But it doesn’t matter when you are a sportsperson because you hear it from one ear and remove it from another.

In case you missed: “I’m sure Toto Wolff is plotting,” says Christian Horner

Max Verstappen in the 2024 season

  • Grand Prix: 18
  • Points: 466 (crowned champion)
  • Wins: 15
  • Poles: 11
  • Podiums: 17

The above stats are as of the 2024 United States Grand Prix. One more fact is that one Grand Prix was canceled, or else he would have more points or podiums in his tally.

During this championship run, he broke and created several records. He won 10 consecutive Grand Prix, which is the most by a driver in F1 history. Most wins in one F1 season. He won his 50th Grand Prix in his F1 career. Most points by a driver in an F1 season, and many more. With four races left in this season, we don’t know how many records he will break and create. Also, let’s not forget the booing by the crowd.
