On Thursday, Virat Kohli achieved his sixth century in the Indian Premier League and first in four years. This century came against Sunrisers Hyderabad in a critical IPL 2024 match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Kohli finished with 100 runs in 63 balls and struck 12 fours and 4 sixes. Faf du Plessis played a great second-fiddle to Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli came out attacking in the powerplay and scored 29 runs off 19 balls. Often criticized for slowing down in the middle phase, Virat ensured that isn’t the case this time. He smashed 53 runs in 33 balls in the middle phase to ensured the Challengers don’t loose their tempo and dry wicket! His hundred set a brilliant foundation for a comfortable chase.

As RCB chased down 187 with four balls to spare, Kohli and Faf put up 172 runs for the first wicket. Royal Challengers Bangalore won by eight wickets against SunRisers Hyderabad to go one step closer to the IPL playoffs. They now move to the fourth spot on the IPL 2024 Points Table.
