Adam Gilchrist is one of the top 5 oldest players of the IPL. When he played his last match of the IPL, he was 41 years and 185 days old. Adam led Deccan Chargers to their maiden IPL title in 2009 and then also captained Kings XI Punjab till 2013. He scored 2069 runs in 80 IPL games. Though he was a wicketkeeper-batter, he ended his IPL career by bowling some off-spin, and to everyone’s delight, he picked the wicket of Harbhajan Singh.

4. Shane Warne

Shane Warne was 41 years and 249 days old at the time of his last IPL game. He led Rajasthan Royals in the inaugural season of IPL to win the title. Shane must surely have influenced that RR team, because no one gave them a chance to win the first IPL season. Shane took 57 wickets in 55 games at Rajasthan Royals with an economy of 7.27.

3. Muttiah Muralitharan

Muttiah Muralitharan, the highest Test wicket-taker, ranks at number 3 in the list of the oldest players in IPL. Murali was 42 years and 35 days old at the time of his last IPL appearance. He played 3 seasons for CSK and a lone season for Kochi Tuskers Kerala and 3 seasons for RCB. Overall, in 66 games, Murali picked 63 wickets and gave runs at a mere economy of. 6.63.

2. Pravin Tambe

Pravin Tambe was one of the many sensations IPL has produced. But he was surely the oldest of them. The man has an incredible story. He made his debut in IPL 2013 at 41 and, more fascinating, he had no experience of any First Class or List A or any domestic T20 cricket experience. It featured Pravin in his last IPL match at 44 years and 219 days, which makes him the 2nd oldest player to play in this tournament.

1. Brad Hogg 

Brad Hogg, the Chinaman bowler, is the oldest player to play the IPL. He was 45 years and 92 days old during his last game of the IPL. He played for Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. Brad played his last game of IPL in 2016. In 21 IPL matches, Brad has 23 wickets and 4/29 as his best bowling figures.
