The match was set up by bowlers of either side. First, English bowlers with their disciplined and magnificent bowling attack stopped the Men in Green at a meager target. Thanks to Sam Curran, who received the Man of the Tournament as well as the Man of the Match trophy, as he picked 3 Pakistani batters in his 4 over.
Despite, an easy target, England did not got off to a great start. As Pakistan’s lethal lefty-bowler, Shaheen Afridi got the best of the in-form Alex Hales in his first over. Moreover, early dismissals of Philip Salt and later Jos Buttler couldn’t break England’s backbone. As they managed to put up a crucial 47-run partnership for the fifth wicket, with Ben Stokes remaining unbeaten and taking his team home.
