MS Dhoni consoles Mukesh Chaudhary, Manjrekar tweets to give him a morale boost

Match number 22 of the Indian Premier League(IPL) witnessed the clash of the biggies, Chennai Super Kings(CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB). CSK managed to win it by 23 runs with ex RCBians Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa’s massive knocks and Maheesh Theekshana’s brilliant bowling spell. With this win CSK opened their account in the points table giving them their first 2 winning points. But something unusual happened in the middle with Captain Cool rushing to a pacer to have a word with him.

CSK’s newbie Mukesh Chaudhary dropped two important catches in the match. After Mukesh’s 2nd drop catch, MS Dhoni was spotted walking up to the pacer in a bid to console him. MS Dhoni’s wonderful gesture of putting his arm around Mukesh Choudhary, who was having a rough day at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday, took the internet by storm.

Mukesh dropped RCB debutant Suyash Prabhudessai when he was batting on 32 in Dwayne Bravo’s first over. Mukesh then, again dropped Dinesh Karthik on 6 in the 15th over, bowled by Maheesh Theekshana. RCB were already 5 down and Karthik’s wicket at that time would have all but closed the deal for CSK.

Mukesh, it seems, felt nervous after dropping 2 consecutive catches. He also leaked 23 runs in his 3rd over. However Sai Sudharshan couldn’t do much but Dinesh Karthik seemed lethal at the end as he hit 2 sixes and a boundary, keeping RCB’s run chase alive till he was dismissed for 34 runs.

Former India batter-turned commentator, Sanjay Manjrekar urged Mukesh to put behind the disappointing evening and focus on the remainder of the season.

“Dear Mukesh Choudhary, what happened to you tonight is no reflection of how good or bad you are, it’s an inevitability in every performer’s life. All the best for the rest of the season,”
